Are there people out there that really believe in Tarot Card Readings?
Do they really mean what they say? These people that read these are they “gifted?”

Advice with tarot card readings?
I generally consider myself a skeptic but I have recently acquired a deck of tarot cards and feel a strong emotional attraction to the images. This week I have played a game of shuffling the deck whilst concentrating strongly on the cards, then cutting them once and turning a single card. I was quite surprised as every time I did this the cards were either pentacles or cups. Then to my amazement the same card came out three days in a row (the ace of cups). Today I decided to turn more cards but this time the mood was very different. I don’t know much about the cards but the images were disturbing, dark and morose. I laid out three in a row :
2 of wands, 5 of cups, Q of swords. I laid out three more in row: 8 of swords, 5 of wands, 3 of wands.
I decided to lay one more card on top to add clarity to the images: The Star. The cards gave me a very bad feeling so after a moment I decided to cut the pack, concentrate hard and turn one fresh card. I did this and the card was: The Tower. I find the image horrifying and now I’m troubled. I have no reason to believe in such things but the patterns in the cards have surprised me as I expected random results.

Please advise.

To kumorifo.. & Brigid, thanks very much for your detailed responses and serious
attempts to interpret the cards. I’m still somewhat stuck on the idea that another
turn of the cards five minutes later would lead to a totally different reading though.
I’m also impressed but sceptical about your ability to put a positive spin on things,
there certainly seems to be a lot of room for interpretation!

For the guys with the more dismissive responses: well don’t worry I’m not about to
start living my life by the prediction of cards – I might end up with the ‘Macbeth
syndrome’ if I did. I was more intrigued by the way certain patterns came out like
the same card three times in a row – slender odds! I’m a scientist myself but I’m not
arrogant enough to assume that we understand all the ‘forces’ at work in this universe.
Many things we now understand fully were once thought to be magical.

Still having trouble picking a best answer..I think I’ll consult the Tar

Don’t bother , only a fool would let cards rule their lives.

Just like horoscopes, never take it seriously, it’s only for amusement purposes.

Tarot cards are proven bullshit.

If you’re really a skeptic, you don’t believe in them without them being objectively proven.
